The family of eight-year-old Aliyah Jaico, who tragically drowned in a hotel pool incident, files a lawsuit against the Doubletree by Hilton Houston Brookhollow hotel and its parent company, Hilton Worldwide Holdings.
In a tragic event at the Doubletree by Hilton Houston Brookhollow hotel in Houston, eight-year-old Aliyah Jaico lost her life in an accident that occurred while she was swimming with her family. Her body was found in a pipe for a lazy river at the hotel premises. The incident, which took place recently, has been confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences as an accidental drowning accompanied by mechanical asphyxia.
Following the incident, Aliyah’s mother has filed a lawsuit against the hotel and Hilton Worldwide Holdings, claiming that her daughter was sucked into an unsecured opening in the pool’s flow system. The hotel, while expressing deep sorrow over Aliyah’s death, has pointed out that it is independently owned and operated.
Houston police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Aliyah’s death, which has been met with sadness by the community and described as “absolutely horrific” by the family’s attorney. Questions about how the child was able to access the pipe and the safety measures in place at the hotel’s pool remain as the investigation continues.
