A Deliveroo rider was the victim of a stabbing during an attempted bike theft in Enfield, North London. The assailant, 19-year-old Lewis Livingstone, assaulted the rider in broad daylight on Fore Street, causing non-life-threatening injuries. Despite the attack, the victim and public bystanders courageously detained Livingstone until police arrived. The incident, captured on CCTV, showed Livingstone kicking the rider off his bicycle and stabbing him with a large knife. Livingstone, who claimed self-defense, was sentenced to six and a half years in prison for attempted robbery and possession of a bladed article after evidence and witness statements disproved his claim. The community’s quick response and assistance were commended by Detective Constable James Hunt, highlighting their significant role in the arrest. The Deliveroo rider, though hospitalized, survived the attack and expressed his gratitude towards those who helped during the ordeal.
