Stephen Bear has been mandated by the Chelmsford Crown Court to pay £27,000 after sharing a sex tape of Georgia Harrison on OnlyFans without consent, highlighting the legal consequences of distributing intimate content unlawfully.
Stephen Bear, a reality TV star, has been mandated by the Chelmsford Crown Court to pay a sum of £27,000 after unlawfully sharing a sex tape of Love Island contestant Georgia Harrison. The footage, uploaded to the platform OnlyFans, generated profit for Bear, leading to his conviction for voyeurism among other charges. The court disclosed that Bear earned £22,305 from the video, ordering him to compensate Ms. Harrison as part of the financial judgment.
Having already served 10.5 months of a 21-month prison sentence for his actions, Bear faces an additional nine months behind bars should he fail to fulfill the confiscation order within the stipulated three-month period. Furthermore, besides the earnings from the video, Bear is ordered to pay Ms. Harrison £5,000 in compensation.
Ms. Harrison has reported experiencing significant distress due to the violation, stating the leaked video not only caused embarrassment and violation of privacy but also fear regarding its potential widespread distribution. Despite Bear’s prior portrayal of significant wealth on social media, it was revealed during the court proceedings that he had not yet paid any part of the damages (£207,900) and costs (£213,515) adjudged to Ms. Harrison following a High Court case.
Outside the court, Ms. Harrison emphasized the emotional and potentially long-term impacts of the incident on her life. She highlighted the necessity for offenders to repay profits obtained from image-based sexual abuse, pledging to allocate a portion of the received money to charities that have supported her.
This judicial determination underscores the legal repercussions tied to sharing intimate content without consent and stresses the importance of compensating victims in such scenarios.
