A Scottish tourist, 23-year-old Liam Jones, is presumed missing after he reportedly went overboard from the MSC Euribia cruise ship in the North Sea. Jones, a social work student, was on a seven-day cruise from Southampton to Amsterdam, including various stops such as Hamburg, France, Belgium, and Amsterdam for his mother’s birthday celebration. The alarming incident took place shortly after Jones, feeling seasick, stepped out onto the deck, according to his sister’s last observation of him.

Sophia Mcphee, Jones’s wife, has publicly shared her profound distress, stating her frustration with the lack of information provided by authorities regarding her husband’s disappearance. Despite her continuous efforts to reach out to MSC Cruises for answers, her inquiries have largely remained unanswered.

In response to the unfortunate event, a representative from MSC Cruises conveyed the company’s sorrow, confirming that a passenger had indeed gone overboard and that the relevant authorities were promptly notified. The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has also acknowledged the incident, offering support to the family of the British national involved. Additionally, Police Scotland has been approached to provide further insights into the ongoing investigation into Jones’s disappearance.
